WARE Records was founded by Mathias Schaffhäuser in 1997. The label’s musical orientation is open, most important being originality, abstraction and contemporary relevance.

WARE has released 95 EPs and 20 albums (as of august 2014), by Ziggy Kinder, Lucy, Philogresz, Szymon Hollner, Jin Choi, And.id, Hans Nieswandt, Markus Güntner, Benjamin Brunn, Novox, Dominik Eulberg, Decomposed Subsonic and Mathias Schaffhäuser - just to name a few.

Remixes for Ware were produced by C-Rock, Brandt/Brauer/Frick, Trentemøller, Deepchild, Gebr. Teichmann, René Breitbarth, Dapayk, Pedramovich, Audio Werner, Swayzak, Jeremy P. Caulfield, Frank Martiniq, Falko Brocksieper and many more."

WARE’s focus on time relevance means that all music released on the label should somehow refer to the present. Schaffhäuser is no fan of retro trends and epigonisms, neither as label owner, musician nor as DJ.
